If you’re circling Sapulpa with an empty stomach and a full tank of gas, you’ve picked the right spot to wander off Route 66. This town runs on honest cooking, from the kind of hand-carved Reuben you’d find in a Milwaukee deli to homemade banana ice cream that sounds like a dare but tastes like a triumph.

At Sons of Amalfi, you’ll want reservations for the homemade pasta; at Mark’s Snack Shack, you’ll want cash for the hummus that’s worth the drive from Tulsa. I’ve eaten my way through every counter and cloth napkin in between.

Trust me, you won’t leave hungry.

The staff are friendly and the service is quick, even when the line is out the door. It's a consistent favorite for a reason, though I will say the burgers and sandwiches are simple and can sometimes miss the mark. But honestly, you're here for the ice cream and the dairy, and those are always on point. If you're in Sapulpa and craving a classic scoop or a refreshing milkshake, this is your spot.
